A successful partial left ventriculectomy and mitral valve replacement (Batista) operation with 31 No Sorin prosthetic valve performed to a 45 year old female patient tor end-stage heart failure and dilated cardiomyopathy (class İV NYHA) which occured secondary to mitral valve disease and was resistant to ali medications. Postoperative control echocardiography revealed a 15-20% increase in the ejection fraction (with simps method) in comparison with preoperative echocardiography. The severe heart failure symptoms of the patient recovered and she is discharged in the 10 day

Kardiyoloji kliniğimizde mitral kapak hastalığına sekonder son dönem kalp yetmezliği (NYHA ya göre IV. Sınıf) tanısı konulan 45 yaşındaki bayan hastaya, medikai tedaviye cevap vermeyen dilate kardiyomiyopati nedeni ile parsiyel sol ventrikülektomi ve 31 No Sorin prostetik valv ile mitral valv replasmanı (Batista) operasyonu başarıyla uygulandı. Postoperatif kontrol ekokardiyografisinde preoperatife göre ejeksiyon fraksiyonunda (simps yöntemi ile) %15-20 artış saptandı. Yetmezlik bulguları tamamen gerileyen hasta postoperatif 10. günde taburcu edildi.
