The purpose of this study was to determine, for Physical Education students of “Gazi University”, the effect of different types of music towards some physiological parameters during a submaximal exercise. The case was studied upon 12 students (6 girls and 6 boys) with an age average of 21,91 ± 1,90 years, height average of 170,41 ± 6,80 cm, weight average of 65,70 ± 11,53 kg; all participants being considered active from a physical point of view. The subjects were initially tested (the fırst test) for their assessment of Maximal Mekanik Power (MMP), and the second test followed afterwards. The second test consisted of a submaximal effort performed by each student on an ergonometric bicycle for 30 minutes, with an effort intensity of 65% from the MMP. Each test participant accomplished 3 different experimental conditions, as follows: no music, sedative music and fast music. Tthe measured parameters being: heart rate (HR), systolic and diastolic blood pressure (SBP AND DBP), skin temperature(ST) and rating of perceived exertion (RPE). As a result of the statistics analysis, significant differences were identified between the 3 experimental conditions. Thus, the HR was significantly higher with 2% in no music than in fast music (p<0,05), but related to the HR in slow music no significant difference was noticed (p>0,05). SBP in no music was higher with 5% than in slow music and with 6% higher than in fast music (p<0,05). The values of DBP in fast music were significantly lower than in no music (p<0,05). ST and RPE in no music was significantly higher than in slow and fast music (p<0,05). In conclusion, listening to music may have a positive effect for the organism while performing a submaximal physical effort.

Bu araştırmanın amacı Gazi Üniversitesi Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksekokulunda okuyan öğrencilerinin, submaksimal bir efor sırasında farklı tip müzik dinlemenin (yavaş, hızlı) bazı fizyolojik parametrelere etkisinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya, yaş ortalamaları 21,91 ± 1,90 yıl, boy ortalamaları 170,41 ± 6,80 cm, vücut ağırlığı ortalaması 65,70 ± 11,53 kg olan, fiziksel açıdan aktif sayılan, toplam 12 öğrenci (6 kız ve 6 erkek) katılmıştır. Deneklerin esas testte çalışacakları şiddeti belirlemek için ilk testte her deneğin Maksimal Mekanik Gücünü (MMG) ölçülmüştür, esas testte ise denekler ergonometrik bisiklet üzerinde, 30 dakika süre ile ve MMG’nin % 65 şiddet ile submaksimal bir efor sarfetmişlerdir. Teste katılan her denek biri müziksiz, biri yavaş müzikli ve diğeri de hızlı müzikli olmak üzere eforu 3 farklı durumda gerçekleştirmiştir. Ölçülen parametreler şunlardır: Kalp Atım Hızı (KAH), Sistolik ve Diastolik Kan Basıncı (SKB, DKB), Vücut Isısı (Vüc.I) ve Borg Göstergesi (BG). İstatistiksel analiz sonucunda 3 farklı test durumu arasında anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuştur. Böylece, müziksiz durumundaki KAH hızlı müzik durumundaki KAH’tan % 2 anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olmuştur (p<0,05) ve yavaş müzik durumundaki KAH’tan anlamlı farklılık yoktur (p>0,05). Müziksiz durumundaki SKB, yavaş müzikli durumundaki SKB’den % 5 ve hızlı müzikli durumundaki SKB’den % 6 anlamlı daha yüksek bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Hızlı müzik durumundaki DKB ve nabız basıncı (NB) müziksiz durumundaki DKB ve NB’den anlamlı daha düşük olmuştur (p<0,05). Vüc.I ve BG ise müziksiz durumundaki değeri yavaş ve hızlı müzikli durumlardaki değerlerden anlamlı daha yüksek olarak bulunmuştur (p<0,05). Sonuç olarak, müziğin dinlenilmesi submaksimal efor sarfeden bir vücut üzerine pozitif etki oluşturduğu söylenebilir.
