Thyroid gland diseases, especially the nodes, are commonly encountered diseases in the world. In primary care, thyroid nodules ould be detected by patients' self control or during a physical examination of the family physician. Purpose of the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules, is to prevent unnecessary surgery.

Tiroid bezi hastalıkları, dünyada yaygın görülen hastalıklar arasında olup özellikle nodüllerine çok sık rastlanmaktadır. Birinci basamakta hastaların kendi tespiti ya da aile hekiminin fizik muayenesi sırasında tiroid nodülü saptanabilir. Tiroid nodüllerinde ayırıcı tanının amacı benign-malign ayrımını yapmak ve gereksiz cerrahiye engel olmaktır.
