Abstract (2. Language):
Imperialism implies political, cultural, economical and narrative dominance of
one nation over the other(s). It bases on the removal of the rights of economic, political
and legal presence of one nation. But, as it is in many other notion there is a broad
confusion in the usage of imperialism as a tool of analysis. Since there is not a common
shared description of imperialism there is a disruption of the meaning of it. In addition to
this general confusion, there are some special problems in the imperialism literature in
Turkish. These problems source from the shallow, conjectural and random usage of the
term. In this article imperialism literature in Turkish is evaluated generally and the
literature after 2000 is focused specially.

Emperyalizm kavramı, bir millet veya topluluğun diğeri üzerine doğrudan veya dolaylı, siyasî, ekonomik, kültürel veya söylemsel egemenliğini ve baskısını ifade etmektedir. Emperyalizm ‘ötekinin’ bağımsız siyasi, hukuki ve iktisadi varoluş hakkının ortadan kaldırılmasına dayanır. Diğer pek çok anahtar kavramda olduğu gibi emperyalizmin kullanımında da bir karışıklılık söz konusudur. Emperyalizmin bütün bir tanımının olmaması bu fenomenin entelektüel anlamda parçalanmasıyla sonuçlanmıştır. Bu parçalanmayı Türkçe’deki emperyalizm üzerine güncel literatürde de müşahede edebilmekteyiz. Genel emperyalizm literatüründeki sorunlara ek olarak Türkçe’de kavramın kullanımı ve literatürde ele alınma biçimi ile ilgili ciddi sorunlar mevcuttur. Bu sorular kavramın yüzeysel, konjonktürel ve gelişigüzel kullanımından kaynaklanmaktadır. Bu makalede Türkçe’deki emperyalizm literatürü genel olarak değerlendirilmekte ve 2000 sonrası literatür özel olarak incelenmektedir.
