GöKALP VE ŞİİR

The prominent sociologist Ziya Gokalp, who is accepted as the principal founder of social science in modern Turkey during the transition period from Ottoman Empire to the Republic of Turkey, had at the same time a considerable production on the field of poetry. But in spite of his undeniable talent as a poet too, he is commonly considered having a secondary value in that area. This article discuss some of main causes of this fact.
