This paper deals with the question of the possibilities and limitations of flexible controlling in regard of child rearing, in contrast to the rigidity of the role application. For this aim, we interviewed parents of preschool children between the ages 4-6, who were not severe with their children, to evaluate their experiences on the matter. Thus, it appeared that it could be possible for the parents to avoid hostile neurotic reactions toward the child and to reduce the errors which arise from punishment, if the rules which could not be obeyed, would be subject of continuous reflection in regard of their appropriateness for the child. This adaptations-process involves to take into consideration the needs and inclinations of the child by the creation of rules and making demands.
