Abstract (2. Language):
The purpose of this study is to examine the quality of the manuscripts sent to sports science journals by Turkish sports
scientists in Turkey from the viewpoints of the editors and to determine the drawbacks of these manuscripts. The questionnaire made up
of five essay type questions was designed for this purpose and sent to randomly selected eight journal editors placed in sports science
index by e-mails. The obtained data was analyzed by qualitative research method. At the end of the research the editors stated that
researches had problems with English and they were not able to state their study purpose and method clearly. The editors suggested
that the researchers have a native English speaking friend and read a great number of international manuscripts.

Bu çalışmanın amacı spor bilimleri alanında uluslararası bilimsel dergilere Türkiye’deki Türk spor bilimcileri tarafından
gönderilen yayınların niteliklerini dergi editörleri bakış açısıyla incelemek ve bu inceleme sonunda uluslararası yayın yapmada eksik
olan noktaları belirlemektir. Bu amaçla araştırmacı tarafından spor bilimleri indeksinde yer alan dergi editörlerine gönderilmek üzere beş
tane açık uçlu sorudan oluşan bir araç hazırlanmış ve elektronik ortamda rasgele belirlenmiş sekiz editöre gönderilmiştir. Elde edilen
veriler nitel veri çözümleme yöntemi ile açıklanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda editörler gönderilen yayınların çoğunda İngilizcenin yetersiz
olduğunu ve araştırmaların amaçlarının ve buna bağlı veri elde etme yöntemlerinin açık ve net bir şekilde belirlenemediğini
belirtmişlerdir. Bu sorunların giderilmesi için de editörler ana dili İngilizce olan çalışma arkadaşı edinilmesini ve çok sayıda uluslararası
yayın okunmasını önermişlerdir.
