Abstract (2. Language):
Individuals feel themselves belong to that city as long as their satisfaction levels increse in the city where they live. They can play more active role in the solutionf the social, economical and political problems in that city which they feel themselves belong to.. In particular, increasing the mechanisms opening ways for the individuals to get involved in the urban management processes in the line of governance approach can make it easier for the individuals who are pleased with the urban life to get involved in the administrative processes. In this study, with a field research, it has been examined whether or not there is a relationship between the satisfaction of the people with the city they live in and their involvement in the administrative processes in the city through field research. Firstly in the city of Bursa where this study was carried out, people were asked questions on whether they are satisfied with this city or not. In the second stage, these people were asked whether or not they are aware of the city councils which is a new application for the country and which has been structured as governance based in the Turkish local administrations systemThe people who are aware of the city council were asked questions on whether or not they participate in the activities of the council. 2915 people have participated in this field study carried out in the city of Bursa. As a result, it has been determined that there is not a relationship between the satisfaction of the people with the city they live in and their participation in the administrative processes -in peculiar to the city councils- in this city.

Kişiler, yaşadıkları kentteki memnuniyet düzeyleri arttıkça o kente kendilerini ait hissederler. Dolayısıyla kendilerini ait hissettikleri bu kentte sosyal, ekonomik ve politik sorunların çözümünde daha aktif rol oynayabilirler. Özellikle yönetişim yaklaşımı doğrultusunda bireylerin kentsel yönetim süreçlerine dâhil olmalarının önünü açıcı mekanizmaların sayısının arttırılması, kentsel yaşamdan memnun olan bireylerin yönetsel süreçlere dâhil olmasını kolaylaştırabilir. Bu çalışmada, alan araştırmasıyla kişilerin yaşadıkları kentten memnuniyetleri ile o kentteki yönetsel süreçlere dâhil olmaları arasında ilişki olup olmadığı bir alan araştırması yoluyla irdelenmiştir. Öncelikle çalışmanın gerçekleştirildiği Bursa kentinde, kişilerin bu kentten memnun olup olmadığına yönelik sorular sorulmuştur. İkinci aşamada ise bu kişilere Türk yerel yönetimler sisteminde yönetişim temelli olarak yapılanan ve ülke için yeni bir uygulama olan kent konseylerinden haberdar olup olmadıkları sorulmuştur. Kent konseyinden haberdar olan kişilere konseyin çalışmalarına katılıp katılmadıklarına yönelik sorular sorulmuştur. Bursa kentinin yedi merkez ilçesinde gerçekleştirilen bu alan araştırmasına 2915 kişi katılmıştır. Neticede kişilerin yaşadıkları kentte memnun olmaları ile o kentte yönetsel süreçlere katılmaları – kent konseyleri özelinde- arasında bir ilişki olmadığı tespit edilmiştir.
