In Class III patients, early treatment is usally indicated because if left untreated, most of those patients choose the option of ortognatic surgery. The achived improvement in physical apperance of patients with class III malocclusions by ortopedic procodures applied without waiting fort he surgical operations, positively influence the psychology of the patients as well. The ortopedic face mask is one of the most frequently used appliance in the treatment of class III malocclusion

Sınıf III bireylerde erken tedavi çoğunlukla endikedir çünkü tedavi edilemeden bırakıldığı durumlarda bu hastaların büyük bir çoğunluğu ortognatik cerrahiye yönelmektedir. Erken yaşlardaki sınıf III anomalili bireylerde cerrahi operasyon beklemeden yapılan ortopedik uygulamaların hastaların görünümü üzerindeki iyileştirici etkisi psikolojik yapılar üzerinde de çok önemli etkiler yaratmaktadır. Bu tür malokluzyonların tedavisinde en çok kullanılan aygıtlardan biri yüz maskedir.
