Abstract (2. Language):
Photodynamic therapy is based on cell destruction which is caused by photoactivation of photosensitizing agents. Photodynamic therapy is a promising modality for the management of various tumors and non-oncologic disease. In this revie w, considering the recent literature the mechanism of action, the various photosensitizing agents and light sources used, the derma to logical indications and clinical applications of photodynamic therapy is summarized.
