Acute tubular necrosis is one of the most significant causes of
mortality in nephrological practice. In this paper, we present a case
of acute tubular necrosis associated with involvement of brain
stalk, caused by potasium clorate in a 21-year-old male patient eating
a box of match-sticks as an attempt of suicide.

Akut tübüler nekroz, nefroloji pratiğinin önemli mortalite nedenlerinden
biridir. Burada, intihar amacıyla bir kutu kibrit çöpü yiyen
21 yaşındaki erkek hastada potasyum kloratın neden olduğu,
beyin sapı tutulumuyla seyreden bir akut tübüler nekroz olgusu sunulmuştur.
