Aminoglikozidler (AG) hayatı tehdit eden gram-negatif infeksiyonlardaki güçlü etkinliklerinden dolayı oldukça yaygın bir şekilde kullanılmaktadır. Ancak nefrotoksisite ve otovestibüler toksisite sık görülen bir yan etki olmakta ve aminoglikozid kullanımını belirgin bir şekilde sınırlandırmaktadır. Tedavi gören vakaların yaklaşık %10-15'inde akut tü-büler nekroza bağlı akut böbrek yetersizliği geliş¬mektedir (1).
