In this study we investigated the effect of decreased senim uric acid levels on senim vitamin Dj levels in patients with chronic renal failure on heamodialysis and treated with allopurinol. Tliere was a no significant difference between pre and post treatment mean senim BUN, creatinine, calcium and inorganic phosphate levels whilst a statistically significant difference was observed between pre and post treatment senim uric acid and 1.25 dihydroxycholecalciferol levels. We conclude that a lower senim uric acid concentration might have a positive effect on endogenous vitamin Dj synthesis in patients with chronic renal failure.

Bu çalışmada Allopurinol ile tedaviye alınan kronik hemodializ programındaki KBY hastalarında ürik asit seviyelerindeki düşmenin senim D vitamini düzeylerine etkisi araştırılmıştır. Söz konusu hastaların ortalama BUN, kreatinin, kalsiyum ve inorgonik fosfor düzeyleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunamamış ancak ürik asit ve 1,25 dihidroksikolekalsi-ferol düzeylerinde istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı (p<0.05) fark saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak KBYhasta¬larında senim ürik asit düzeylerinin düşük tutulması¬nın hastalanıl endojen D vitamini sentezini olumlu yönde etkilediği söylenebilir.
