PERKUTAN BÖBREK İNCE İĞNE BİYOPSİSİNİN RENAL HASTALIKLARIN TANI VE TAKİBİNDEKİ YETERLİLİĞİ VE KOMPLİKASYONLARI

THE ADEQUACY AND COMPLICATION OF PERCUTANEOUS FINE NEEDLE KIDNEY BIOPSY IN THE DIAGNOSIS AND FOLLOW-UP OF RENAL DISEASE

Abstract (2. Language):
Forty-seven percutaneous renal needle biopsies were performed on 45 children with average age of 7.4 (Smonths- 15 years old) between May 1990 and June 1993. Pericapsullary hematoma was detected in 3 (%6.4) children by abdominal ultrasonography within 24 hours after biopsy. Macroscopic hematuria developed in 5 (% 10.6) patients. Tlie patients with uremia, hypertension and vasculitis were compared with the others who were nonuremic, normotensive and having no vasculitis for the rate of complication. Uremia was found to increase the risk of development of hematoma while there were no statistically significant difference between the other parameteres. Vie clinical presentation and pathological findings of the patients were reviewed emphasizing. Tlie importance of biopsy in the early diagnosis, treatment and follow up of some disorders. We also showed the important role of ultrasonography in the detection of complications.
