Abstract (2. Language):
Peritoneal dialysis has become an important renal replacement therapy (RRT) for children with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). The aim of this study is to report the short term results of a pediatric center. From December 1995 to November 1996 ten children (5girls, 5 boys) aged 3.5 - 15years (average 9.35+4.51 years) were admitted into CAPD program. In all the children double - cuffed swan neck catheter was implantedpercutaneously. Patients used twin bag system (Dianeal 137 - Baxter). The observation period ranged from 5.5 to 12 months (average 8.50±2.44 months). The complications were peritonitis in 5patients, inguinal hernia in 2patients and inadequate drainage in 2patients. The rate of peritonitis was 1/17 patient-months. In conclusion, CAPD is an acceptable form of re¬nal replacement theraphy in children with ESRD.
Abstract (Original Language):
Son yıllarda son dönem böbrek yetmezlikti (SDBY) çocuklarda sürekli ayaktan periton diyalizi (SAPD) giderek artan oranlarda uygulanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada SAPD merkezimizin kısa süreli ilk so¬nuçlarını vermeyi amaçladık.
