Abstract (2. Language):
PFAPA is a non-hereditary syndrome, characterized by periodic fever episodes, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis and cervical adeni¬tis. In clinical practice high fever and tonsillitis are frequently encountered in children. Here we report a 20-month old boy who was admitted to a family medicine office for recurrent high fever, tonsillitis and aphthous stomatitis. Diagnosis of PFAPA syndrome was established by the recurrent nature of complaints and clinical response to steroid treatment in the next episode. In this article, we reviewed PFAPA syndrome and emphasized the importance of its diagnosis in the primary care.
