Abstract (2. Language):
Our study aims to investigate retrospectively the epidemiolo-gical features of 80 patients diagnosed with ovarian cancer out of the 57584 patients who applied to the gynecology clinic of the izmir Atatürk Education and Research Hospital bet¬ween 1990-98 with various complaints. Our study reveals that the ratio of ovarian cancer among the patients who applied to our clinic was 0.1%; the cancer pati¬ents were in risk groups according to their menopause age, epithelial ovarian cancer was more frequent among the post-menopausal patients and, the patients who had a family his¬tory, of gynecologic cancer were younger. Considering the risk and preventive factors of ovarian consers, epidemiological studies must be put in agenda for public he¬alth.
