Firms’ behaviours are analyzed in terms of perfect competition, monopoly, monopolistic competition and oligopolistic competition in economics theory. These four markets have quite different structures. In this study, the determination of market power is analyzed in details with respect to Structure-Conduct-Performance (SCP) and New Empirical Industrial Organization (NEIO) approaches in market behaviour. In addition, some key amprical studies related to topic in the literature was also reviewed.

Firmaların davranışlarıiktisat teorisinde tam rekabet, monopol, monopolcü rekabet ve oligopol piyasalarıiçinde analiz edilmektedirler. Bu dört piyasanın birbirlerinden oldukça farklıyapılarıbulunmaktadır. Bu çalışma ile piyasa yapısının belirlenmesinde geleneksel ve yeni endüstriyel organizasyon yaklaşımlarına göre pazar gücünün teorik olarak belirlenmesi detaylıolarak incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, konuya yönelik olarak literatürde yer alan bazıönemli uygulamalıçalışmalara yer verilmiştir.
