Abstract (2. Language):
This study provides an analytical discussion for the issue of religious fundamentalism and its relevance to conflict, in its broader sense. It is stressed that religious fundamentalism manifests itself in two ways: nonviolent intolerance and violent intolerance. The sources of both types of intolerance and their connection to conflict are addressed and discussed in detail. Further research is also suggested on conditions connecting religion to nonviolent intolerance so as to cope with the problem more effectively.
