Abstract (2. Language):
This research was carried out in order to develop a standard measurement instrument
special to culture assessing nurses’ of midwives’ professional attitudes at occupation. A
methodological research was conducted to evaluate the validity and reliability of the
inventory developed exclusively for the culture. The population of the research consisted of
nurses (74 persons) and midwives (86 persons) working in State Hospital and Gynecology
Birth and Child Diseases Hospital in Ordu province. The data were collected between the
dates 1-30 June 2005. The nurses and midwives were informed about the research and their
verbal consent was taken. In addition, a written consent was taken from the hospitals. The
analysis of data were made via Pearson correlation coefficient analysis, Cronbach Alpha
coefficient, Kaise-Mayer-Olkin test, Barlett’s test of sphericity analysis and factor analysis
with SPSS 11,5 in computer. A likert-type inventory consisting of 36 items to evaluate the
Professional attitude at occupation was developed in the light of literature information. The
validity of content-scope was examined to determine the validity of inventory and the number
of questions was reduced to 32 items. The validity structure of the inventory was examined
and the results of KMO analysis and that of Barlett’s test were found as 0,860 and 807,357
respectively. Both the test results were found significant at the level of importance p=0,000. A
factory analysis and total item point correlation was applied to the inventory wasn’t altered 32
item-number. Internal consistency and re-test application were carried out to determine the
validity of the inventory. Cronbach Alpha coefficient was of found to be α=0,89 and re-test
correlation coefficient was found to be r =0,97.
As a result in the research that the validity and reliability of Inventory of Professional
Attitude at Occupation were high and that it was an efficient instrument of measurement to
determine nurses’ and midwives’ professional attitude at occupation.

Bu araştırma ebe ve hemşirelerin mesleklerinde profesyonel tutumlarını değerlendiren
kültüre özgü standart bir ölçme aracı geliştirmek için yapıldı. Geliştirilen ölçeğin geçerlik ve
güvenirliğini değerlendirmek için metodolojik bir çalışma yapıldı. Araştırmanın evrenini,
Ordu ili Devlet Hastanesi ve Kadın Doğum ve Çocuk Hastalıkları Hastanesi’nde çalışan
hemşire ve ebeler (74 hemşire, 86 ebe) oluşturdu. Veriler 1-30 Haziran 2006 tarihleri
arasında toplandı. Katılımcılara çalışma hakkında bilgi verildi ve sözel onay alındı. Ayrıca
araştırmanın yapıldığı hastanelerden yazılı izin alındı. Verilerin analizi, bilgisayarda SPSS
11.5 istatistik programında, Pearson korelasyon katsayısı analizi, Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik
katsayısı, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) analiz testi, Barlett’s test of Sphericitiy ve faktör
analizi testleri ile yapıldı. Literatür doğrultusunda meslekte profesyonel tutumu
değerlendirecek 36 maddelik likert tipi bir envanter geliştirildi. Envanterin içerik kapsam
geçerliğinin değerlendirmesi content validity indeksi %95 olarak belirlendi ve madde sayısı
32’ye indirildi. Envanterin yapı geçerliliğine bakıldı ve KMO analizi sonucu 0,860, Barlett’s
testi sonucu 807,357 olarak saptandı. Her iki analiz sonucunda p=0,000 önem düzeyinde
anlamlı bulunmuştur. Madde toplam puan korelasyonu ve faktör analizi sonucunda envanter
sayısı değişmedi. Envanterin güvenirliğini saptamak için iç tutarlılık ve tekrar test uygulaması
yapıldı. Envanterin Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik katsayısı α=0,89 ve test-tekrar test korelasyon
katsayısı r=0,97 bulundu.
Araştırmanın sonucunda, geliştirilen Meslekte Profesyonel Tutum Envanteri
(MPTE)’nin geçerlik ve güvenirliği yüksek ve meslekte profesyonel tutumu belirlemede
yeterli bir ölçme aracı olduğu belirlendi.
