Abstract (2. Language):
The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between speed and aerobic endurance (VO2max) in prepubertal children. A total of twenty-three prepubertal children (age 11.44±0.72y); thirteen boys and ten prepubertal girls took part in this study. Each subject performed 20 m sprint test and 20m Shuttle Run Test. The relationship between speed and VO2max was analyzed by Spearman Correlation Test (p<.01). The means of parameters were as; height 140.26±6.77cm, weight 34.74±5.33kg, 20 m sprint test 6.46±0.51sec and VO2max 30.14±3.54 ml.kg-1.min-1 There was a significant relationships between speed (20 m) and aerobic endurance (VO2max) in prepubertal children (p<.01).These findings suggest that, the relationship between speed and aerobic endurance could be taken into consideration when designing training programs of athletes
