PERCEPTIONS OF ACADEMIC AND BUSINESS DISHONESTY AMONG SENIOR LEVEL STUDENTS

Thisstudyanalyzesseniorlevelstudents'attitudestowarddishonestywithasurvey concerningacademicandbusinesssituations.Theresultsindicatethatcheatingisacommon activityi ntheuniversityclassroomssurveyed.Althoughmoststudentsindicatedthat academiccheatingisethicallywrongandtheyhavefearofpunishmenti fcaughtcheatingona courseassignment,substantialnumbersofthestudentsbelievedthatacademiccheatingis sociallyacceptable.Whenaskedtodeterminei fstudents'attitudestowardunethicalbehavior differbetweenanacademicenvironmentandabusinesssetting,studentsviewedbusiness situationsmoreunethicalthantheiracademiccounterparts.Havingexaminedthesignificant differencesbetweenindependentvariablesgroupings,theresultsshowthatmoststudents havesimilarattitudestowarddishonesty

Buçalışmasonsınıföğrencilerininsahtekarlığailişkintutumlarını ,akademikveiş hayatındakikoşullarıiçerenbiranketaracılığıylaanalizetmektedir.Sonuçlararaştırmaya dahilolanüniversitesınıflarındakopyaçekmeninyaygınbirfaaliyetolduğunugöstermiştir. Öğrencilerinçoğunluğuüniversitedekopyaçekmeninetikolarakyanlışolduğunu düşünmesineveherhangibirdersinsınavındakopyaçekerkenyakalanıpcezalandırılma korkusuyaşamasınarağmen ,önemlisayıdaöğrenciüniversitedekopyaçekmenintoplumsal olarakkabuledilebileceğineinanmaktadır .Öğrencilerinakademikyaşamdakivei ş hayatındakietikdışıdavranışlarayöneliktutumlarını nfarklılaşıpfarklılaşmadığını sorguladığımızda,öğrencileri şhayatındakikoşullarıakademikyaşamdakikarşılıklarınagöre dahafazlaetikdışıgörmektedirler.Bağımsızdeğişkengruplarıarasındakianlamlıfarklılıklar belirlendiktensonra,öğrencilerinçoğunluğununsahtekarlıklailgil ibenzertutumlar ı gösterdiklerigörülmüştür.
