The job satisfaction is of great importance for academicians in terms of training the well-qualified individuals which the country needs and providing scientific and technical advances. For this aim, in this study, the factors which determine job satisfaction of the academicians in Zonguldak Karaelmas University are investigated. The job satisfaction of the academicians is analyzed by survey and it is concluded by the factor analysis that six factors determine the job satisfaction. The effect of these six factors on general satisfaction is investigated using the regression analysis. According to the results, while the six factors have positive effects on general satisfaction, the factor of the structure of management and organization has the most important effect.

İş memnuniyeti, ülkenin ihtiyaç duyduğu nitelikli bireylerin yetiştirilmesi ve bilim teknik alanında ilerlemenin sağlanması açısından akademisyenler için büyük önem arz etmektedir. Bu amaçla bu çalışmada Zonguldak Karaelmas Üniversitesinde görev yapan akademik personelin genel olarak iş memnuniyetini belirleyen faktörler tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Öğretim elemanlarının iş memnuniyeti anket ile araştırılmış ve faktör analizi sonucunda iş memnuniyetini belirleyen altı faktör olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen altı faktörün genel memnuniyet üzerindeki etkisi regresyon analizi ile araştırılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, altı faktörün genel memnuniyet üzerinde pozitif etkisi bulunmakta ve en önemli etkiyi yönetim ve örgüt yapısı ile ilgili faktörün oluşturduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
