The most important feature which makes Safranbolu distinctive in Turkey and in the world is the houses with the traditional Turkish architecture style. The door rings and door knockers on the doors of that houses are the most important samples of metalwork. While door rings are divided into two categories and door knockers are divided into six categories in Safranbolu. Door rings are generally made of iron, door knockers are made of bronze and brass. While producing these rings and knockers forcing and casting methods were used. Forching methods was used for iron products and casting methods was used for bronze and brass products. Door rings were generally produced by using forging method and door knockers were produced by casting method. Nowadays casting method has gained much importance for the production of these materials.
