Pulsatile drug delivery systems are gaining a lot of interest now days. These systems are designed according to the circadian rhythm of the body. These systems deliver the drug at specific time as per the pathophysiological need of the disease, resulting in improved patient compliance and therapeutic efficacy. Pulsatile delivery, which is meant as the liberation of drugs following programmed lag phases, has drawn increasing interest, especially in view of emerging chronotherapeutic approaches. Pulsatile drug delivery shows potential benefits for the diseases which show circadian rhythms like rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular diseases, asthma, peptic ulcer, allergic rhinitis.
