A simple, precise and accurate high performance thin layer chromatographic method was developed and validated for the simultaneous estimation of amlodipine besylate and indapamide in combined tablet dosage form. Pre-coated silica gel 60F254 aluminium plate was selected as the stationary phase and Ethyl acetate: Toluene: Methanol: Ammonia 5:3.5: 1: 0.5 (v/v/v/v) was used as developing mobile phase. The detection of amlodipine and indapamide was carried out at 240nm. The method was validated for linearity, accuracy, precision, limit of detection and limit of quantitation parameters. The correlation coefficient of amlodipine and indapamide were found to be 0.998 and 0.997 respectively. The average percentage recovery of amlodipine and indapamide were 99.4-100.3 and 99.8¬100.2 respectively. The proposed HPTLC method has potential applications for determination of aml odipine besylate and indapamide in combined tablet dosage form.
