Abstract (2. Language):
The subject of this study is to determine the teachers and students’ opinions about the
contributions of mathematics coursebooks used for first year students in high schools.
The data used for this study have been collected by the questionnaire technique as a
research instrument. The questions in the questionnaire have been prepared having
reviewed the recent literature and have been revised after the comments of experts. The
subjects of this study were mathematics teachers and students at Bahçelievler Anatolian
High School, Bahçelievler High School, Adnan Menderes Anatolian High School,
Anatolian Cağaloğlu High School, Privat Arel High School, Privat Safiye Sultan High
School, Pertevniyal Anatolian High School, Ataköy Cumhuriyet High School, and
Ataköy High School in İstanbul.
The questionnaire used in this study covers an explanation, the level of student’s
interests and expectations of mathematics course books and whether or not the
commission should select mathematics coursebooks used in high schools and the
educational level of the teachers.
The collected datahave been analysed by percentage, frequency and cross tables
methods.
According to the results obtained from this research, it is concluded that mathematics
coursebooks used in high schools for first year students are not effective enough and
must be reconsidered.

Bu çalışma lise I. sınıflardaki matematik derslerinde okutulan ders kitaplarının ve
yardımcıkitapların öğrenmeyi sağlamadaki ve ÖSS’ye katkılarıyönünden öğretmen ve
öğrenci görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla hazırlanmıştır.
İstanbul ili dahilinde, Çağaloğlu Anadolu Lisesi, Bahçelievler Anadolu Lisesi, Adnan
Menderes Anadolu Lisesi, Özel Safiye Sultan Kız Lisesi, Ataköy Cumhuriyet Lisesi,
Pertevniyal Anadolu Lisesi, Özel Arel Koleji,Ataköy Lisesi ve Bahçelievler Lisesi’nde
görev yapan öğretmenler ile bu okullardaki öğrenciler denek olarak kullanılmıştır.
Bu çalışmada ortaya çıkan sonuçlara göre, Lise I. Sınıflarda okutulan matematik ders
kitaplarının öğrenmeyi sağlamadaki ve ÖSS’ye katkılarının, öğretmen anketinin
sonuçlarına göre yeterli olduğu söylenebilir. Ancak öğrenci anketi sonuçlarına göre,
kullanılan kitapların yeterli olmadığıve yeniden gözden geçirilmesinin gerekli olduğu
sonucuna varılmıştır.
