In this literature review study, social adjustment and friendship relations of gifted and talented children that already known about they have some differences from their peers have been scrutinized. In addition to their social adjustment process, friendship expectations and characteristics special to them that affect their adjustment and friendship have been examined. Although there are some contrasting results according to previous studies, recently researches about gifted and talented children's social adjustment and friendship show that gifted and talented children are at least as well, if not better, adjusted than other children

Bu literatür tarama çalışmasında akranlarına göre farklılıklar gösteren üstün zekâlı ve yetenekli çocukların sosyal uyum ve arkadaşlık ilişkileri incelenmiştir. Bu çocukların sosyal uyum süreçlerinin yanında arkadaşlık beklentileri ve bu çocuklara özgü uyum ve arkadaşlığı olumlu veya olumsuz etkileyebilecek özellikler araştırılmıştır. Yapılan araştırmalarda farklı sonuçlara ulaşılmasına rağmen son zamanlardaki araştırmalar üstün zekâlı ve yetenekli çocukların akranlarına göre yüksek değilse bile en azından eşit düzeyde sosyal uyuma ve arkadaşlık ilişkilerine sahip olduklarını ortaya koymuştur.
