Abstract (2. Language):
Peritonitis is the most common and serious complication of continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). Nevertheless, tuberculosis peritonitis in uremic patients undergoing CAPD therapy occurs infrequently. A case of peritoneal infection by mycobacterium tuberculosis in a patient receiving CAPD is reported. Our patient had a positive AFB smear of the peritoneal fluid, and diagnosis is confirmed on culture by Bactec-TB system, but not conventional method. Tuberculosis peritonitis is a rare but important complication of CAPD, removal of catheter is not mandatory in the management of tuberculosis peritonitis.
