Abstract (2. Language):
The study group consisted of 54 teeth of six patients with juvenile periodontitis and control group consisted of 400 teeth of four juvenile periodontitis patients. Doxcy-cyline was offered in the study group as an adjunct to periodontal therapy for 14 days begining from the operation day. Tlie atients in both groups were controlled at the 12th, 24th, and 44th weeks after the operation. Clinical attachment gain in the study group was found significantly higher in the study group at the 48 week time when compared with the controls. The bleeding at probing ratios were significantly lower in the study group during the 48th week period. The findings of the study showed that the effects of adjunctive doxcycyline maybe useful in the surgical treatment of juvenile periodontitis.
