Publication Year:

Abstract (2. Language):
The main purpose of this study is to create instructional materials for alternate energy resources topic as an example. The research was conducted in two rural area middle schools in a southern province in 2013. The experimental group included 44 students and the control group included 52 students. The experimental group took engineering-design based alternate energy resources lessons while the control group took textbook-based alternate energy resources lessons. The Alternative Energy Sources Achievement Test (AESAT) was used as both pretest and posttest for both the groups. According to the results, it was concluded that engineering design method can also be an effective wasy to teach science.
