ÇİNKO VE BAKIRIN SULU ÇÖZELTİDE AKTİF KARBONLA TEKLİ ADSORPSİYONU

SINGLE ADSORPTION OF CUPPER AND ZINC FROM AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION ONTO ACTIVATED KARBON

Journal Name:

Publication Year:

Abstract (2. Language):
Batch studies were conducted to evaluate the potential of Tip1 and Tip2 activated carbons for the adsorption of Zink and Cupper from aqueous solution. The effect of particle size, pH, initial concentration, and contact time on adsorption of zinc and cupper, and the adsorption capacities of the adsorbents were also investigated. The adsorption in these systems is highly dependent on the particle size, pH, initial adsorbate concentration, and contact time. The finest particle size (0.25-0.50 mm) showed the best removal efficiency for both adsorbents. Both the adsorbents showed best efficiency at pH 7.03 and 4.49 for Zn(II)(aq) and Cu(II)(aq) adsorption, respectively. The Langmuir isotherm successfully represented the adsorption phenomenon at specific conditions. Langmuir constant Q0 (mg/g) belonging to Tip1 AC and Tip2 AC, respectively, are 6.035 and 3.821 mg/g for Zn(II)(aq) removal and 6.930 and 0.267 mg/g for Cu(II)(aq) removal.
