Abstract (2. Language):
Aspergillosis is a variety of diseases caused by infection with the fungi Aspergillus. It is an opportunistic infection and some of the reported cases have been immunocompromised while the others were transplant patients. Fungal infection of the prostate is not a very common condition. A small number of aspergillosis cases arising in the prostate have been reported previously. The common feature of these reported cases is the existence of various underlying factors suppressing the immune system. Here we discuss a prostatic aspergillosis case detected in an 80-year-old patient with no underlying disease. Accurate diagnosis is important because of the fatal potential of the disease.
