Abstract (2. Language):
Hojr b. Adi (d. 51/671) lived in Jahiliyya (ignorance) and Islamic periods. He was the proponent of Ali (d.) and for this reason he lost his life. The opposition in the time of Muawiya gathered around him. The leaders of the time saw this as a threat to their administration. Following the command of the central authorities, the governor of Kufa, Ziyad (d.) was able to disperse the group, capturing 14 and sending them to Muawiya who had 7 of them being killed. The disperse of the group by Ziyad easily, their being not protected by the Kufans while their being sent to Muawiya and their being murdered by Muawiya without hesitation show that Hojr and his followers belonged to middles class but not to high class Kufans.

Hucr b. Adî (ö. 51/671) hem Cahiliye dönemi hem İslam dönemini yaşamış bir şahsiyettir. Hz. Ali taraftarlığıyla tanınmıştır. Hayatının sonuna kadar bu taraftarlığını korumuş ve bu yüzden de öldürülmüştür. Hucr b. Adî'nin çevresinde Emevî iktidarından memnun olmayan kalabalık bir arkadaş grubu toplanmıştır. Dönemin iktidar sahipleri bunu kendi iktidarları için bir tehdit unsuru olarak algılamışlardır. Zamanın Kufe valisi Ziyad, Hucr'un etrafındaki arkadaşlarının çoğunu dağıtmayı başarmıştır. Geriye kalan 14 civarındaki bir grubu yakalayarak Muaviye'ye göndermiş, Muaviye de bunların yarısını öldürmüştür. Kufe valisinin bu grubu kolaylıkla dağıtması; Hucr ve arkadaşlarını Muaviye'ye gönderirken herhangi bir kabile veya grubun bunlara sahip çıkmaması veya çıkamaması; Muaviye'nin de sonucundan herhangi politik bir kaygı duymadan bunları rahatlıkla öldürmesi, Hucr'un çevresinde bulunan bu arkadaş grubunun, Kufe ileri gelenlerinden değil de o zamanki toplumun orta sınıfına mensup idealist bir arkadaş grubu olduğunu göstermektedir.
