Abstract (2. Language):
In the time that we experience, most of the conceptions we arc using
arc empty. They are not understood in their historical background and accordingly
they are not used clearly. Through sllch an arbitrary understanding, the contents of
our expressions have been getling weaker and our praxis 01' thinking has been
more complicated. It seems that it is gradually more difficult to determine and
tackle of any social or intellectual problems in Ollr society. Owing to import
conceptions to our thinking environment, our capacity of thinking has been dying
in agony. One of the responsible conceptions for this situation is, 1 believe, the
concept of progress. We do not know exactly what it is and when we usc it we
actually do not lise it properly in the very meaning of the sense. Our lack of ability
in using the concept of progress is the uitimule cause. Tn this article I try to
understand that what sort of meanings it might have.

Günümüzde artık pek çok kavram içi boş bir durumda kullanılmaktadır. Bu kavramların tarihsellikleri anlaşılmamakta ve dolayısıyla bulanık bir şekilde kullanılmaktadırlar. Böyle keyfi bir kullanım sonucunda ifadelerimizdeki içerik zayıflamakta ve düşünme pratiğimiz anlaşılmaz bir hal almaktadır. Bu tarz sağlıksız bir düşünsel çevre ile herhangi bir sorunumuzu belirlemek ve buna çözüm getirmek de giderek zorlaşmaktadır. İthal kavramlar aracılığıyla can çekişir hale gelen düşünsel çevremizi kirleten kavrayışlardan bir tanesi de ilerleme kavramıdır. Ne olduğunu ve ne için kullanıldığını bilmediğimiz bu kavram da geçtiğimiz yüzyılda ithal edilmiş ve kullanılmaya başlamıştır. Bu kavramı kullanırken gösterilen yeteneksizlik ve anlaşılmazlık had safhadadır. Bu makalede, bu kavramın ne anlamlara gelebileceği konusunu ele almaya çalıştık.
