Cancer is a complex and important disease that leading cause of death worldwide. Conventional ther-apeutic methods have some side effects in cancer treatment such as non – specific drug delivery, multi drug resistance. Furthermore with conventional diagnostic techniques it is not possible early cancer detection. Recent progress in nanotechnology offers unique opportunities in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Highlights of this review are about use of nanotechnology in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Kanser, ölüm nedenlerinin baş sıralarında yer alan karmaşık ve önemli bir hastalıktır. Kanser tedavisinde kullanılan geleneksel yöntemlerin yan etkileri, tedavinin başarısını ve etkinliğini azaltmaktadır. Erken teşhis, kanser tedavisinde önemli bir husustur. Geleneksel tanı yöntemleri ile kanserin erken evrelerde teşhis edilmesi güçtür. Çok disiplinli bir bilim olan nanoteknolojideki gelişmeler, kanser teşhis ve tedavisi açısından önemli olanaklar sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada temel olarak nanoteknolojinin kanser teşhis ve tedavisindeki yeri irdelenmiştir.
