A RESEARCH ON SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF HEAVY VEHICLE DRIVERS

Abstract (2. Language):
Drivers in our country have been concerned particularly for the accidents they are involved in. Except the time they are involved in accidents, nobody wanders about these people. For example, nobody wanders; what they eat? what they drink? whether they are happy with their situations or not? and are they causing the accidents without any reason etc. No one knows about the social and economic states of these people who cause to kill a lot of people every year. In this study, especially the economic and social characteristics of the drivers who make tranportation in our country were investigated. In this frame a questionarie was applied to about 1000 drivers by visiting the resting stations located between Gaziantep and Istanbul proviences. A lot of unexpected and interesting results were obtained despite the fact that some parts of results obtained were expected.

Ülkemizde sürücüler özellikle neden oldukları trafik kazaları nedeniyle gündeme gelirler. Bunun dışında bu kesimi kimse merak etmez. Ne yerler? Ne içerler? Hallerinden memnunlar mı? Ortada hiç bir neden yokken mi trafik kazası yaparlar? Her yıl binlerce aileyi yok eden trafik kazalarına neden olan bu insanların hangi sosyal ve ekonomik durumlar içinde oldukları pek bilinmez. Bu çalışmada esas olarak ülkemizde taşımacılık yapan sürücülerin sosyal ve ekonomik durumları incelenmiştir. Bu çerçevede Gaziantep - İstanbul arasında yer alan dinlenme tesislerinde 1000 sürücüye anket uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçların bir kısmı beklenen sonuçlar olmakla birlikte, çok sayıda beklenmeyen ve çarpıcı bilgilerde elde edilmiştir.
