Abstract (2. Language): 
Palpitations are the frequently reported symptoms in prima-ry settings. Underlying reason of palpitations in many pa-tients is a psychiatric disorder rather than a physical illness. Anxiety disorders are the most frequently seen psychiatric disorder in patients with palpitations. Patients with mood disorders, somatoform disorders, or psychotic disorders also exhibit increased levels of palpitations. This review, psychi-atric view of palpitations will be discussed.

Çarpıntı birinci basamakta sık karşılaşılan bir belirtidir. Çar-pıntılı hastaların çoğunluğunda çarpıntının nedeni bir hasta-lıktan çok psikiyatrik bir bozukluktur. Çarpıntı ile en sık ilişkili olan psikiyatrik bozukluk grubu kaygı bozuklarıdır. Ayrıca duygudurum bozukluklarına, somatoform bozukluklara ve psikotik bozukluklara sahip hastalarda da çarpıntı yakınma-sına daha fazla rastlanır. Bu makalede çarpıntılı hastaya psikiyatrik bakış açısı tartışılacaktır.
