A REVIEW ON LIQUID CRYSTALS - A NOVEL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM

Journal Name:

Publication Year:

Abstract (2. Language):
Liquid crystals are substances that flow like a liquids but maintain some of the ordered structure characteristics of crystalline solids. Liquid crystals are a fourth state of matter or present a class of well defined soft materials whose study include new approaches to computational modeling, they can be classified into two types 1) Thermotropic Liquid crystals 2) Lyotropic Liquid crystals, liquid crystal technology is one of the important invention of twentieth century that has found many application as visualization today, a chemist have created new class of liquid crystal with unique electrical properties that could improve the performance of digital display used an everything from digital watches to flat panel television with portable computer laptops and note books. The aim of this review article is to scientifically highlight the pharmaceutical liquid crystal is important in current development of targeted drug delivery system. The objective of this review is also to provide in depth information of pharmaceutical liquid crystal technology which includes its latest an advance technology development.
