"Jihad" concept which was a major motivation for the muslims in the past is to be made an ambarrassment to muslims and Islam in recent years. Also having a historical and political meaning we witness that the concept of cihad is being handle with terror in an anti-Islamic approach. It is thought to be useful taking concept of jihad which was made meaningless by rhetoric of violence, terror and holy war with notion of "great war" in order to refer real meaning. Starting with faith this concept which installs the mission of living the whole life as God commanded has contributed great contributions to Islam civilization with a mystical depth. Sufis who killed their nafs before dying and understood the value of human able to gain bloodles succes believed to be better for all mankind by means of jihad. Today's horrific atmosphere starting great jihad in every indiviual in theirself is an obligation for the peace of humanity as sufis did in tha past.

Gegmi§te Muslumanlar igin buyuk bir motivasyon olan "cihad" kavrami son yillarda Muslumanlara ve islam'a yonelik bir utang vesilesi yapilmak isteniyor. Tarihi ve politik bir gegmi§i de olan cihad kavraminin teror ile birlikte anti-islami bir yakla§imla ele alindigini goruyoruz. §iddet, teror ve kutsal sava§ retorigi ile manasizla§tirilan cihad kavraminin gergek manasini bulmasi igin "buyuk cihad" ifadesinin ele alinmasinin faydali olacagi du§unulmektedir. iman ile ba§layarak butun ya§ami Allah'in emrettigi §ekilde surdurebilme misyonunu yukleyen bu ifade tasavvufi bir derinlik ile birlikte gegmi§te islam medeniyetinin geli§mesinde buyuk katkilar saglami§tir. Olmeden once nefsini oldurebilen sufiler insanin degerini gok iyi anladiklari igin butun insanlik igin hayirli olduguna inandiklari cihad anlayi§lari sayesinde kansiz ba§arilar kazanabilmi§lerdi. Bugunun deh§et verici atmosferinde insanligin huzuru igin sufilerin yaptigi gibi bireyin kendi iginde buyuk cihadini ba§latma zorunlulugu vardir.
