In this study, the village hen farming in Tokat province was investigated. A survey was applied to 153 randomly selected farmers in 5 subdistricts of the Tokat province, and the following results were found; Diseases in hens appear more frequently between December and February in village farms of Tokat (91.82%). The hen egg and meat produced in village farms are consumed by farmer families and some of them are given as a gift to their relatives. 45.91% of village hen farmers in this region are registered in any Agricultural Organization. Agricultural Credit Organizations represent 74.33% of the organizations where the farmers are registered.

Bu araştırmada, Tokat İlinde Köy Tavukçuluğunun bazı özellikleri araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada, Tokat ili gelişmişlik özelliklerine göre 5 alt yöreye ayrılmış ve 41 köyde 153 aile ile yüz yüze görüşülerek anket uygulanmış ve şu sonuçlar bulunmuştur; Tokat ili köy tavuklarında hastalıklar daha sık olarak Aralık- Şubat ayları arasında görülmektedir. Köy tavuğu yetiştiren aileler, ürettiği yumurta ve etin aile tarafından tüketildiği ve bir kısmının da hediye olarak verildiği tespit edilmiştir. Tokat ilinde tavuk bulunduran çiftçilerin %45,91'i her hangi bir tarımsal örgüte kayıtlıdır. Çiftçilerin kayıtlı olduğu örgütlerin %74,33'nü Tarım Kredi Kooperatifleri oluşturmaktadır.
