TURUNÇGİL ARAŞTIRMALARINDA BİYOTEKNOLOJİ ÇALIŞMALARI

BIOTECHNOLOGICAL STUDIES IN CITRUS RESEARCH

Journal Name:

Publication Year:

Abstract (2. Language):
Abiotic and biotic stress and demand to new cultivars force to develop more efficient tools in agricultural industry. Related to these topics, the use of biotechnology in agricultural research have made significant contribution. Biotechnology is commonly used in Citrus research for taxonomic studies, rapid production of disease-free plant material, detection of genetic diversity, genome mapping, transformation and germplasm resources. As a result, biotechnology brought great opportunities to improve citrus fruits. In this review, the results of studies done in this area were reviewed and critical issues were emphasized. Main titles are production and breeding, conservation and utilization of genetic resources, and conclusion.
