NOHUT (Cicer arietinum L.)'TA TOHUM İRİLİĞİNE YÖNELİK SELEKSIYONUN VERİM VE VERİM ÖĞELERİNE ETKİSİ

THE EFFECT OF SELECTION ON YIELD AND YIELD COMPONENTS FOR SEED SIZE IN CHICKPEA (Cicer arietinum L.)

Journal Name:

Publication Year:

Abstract (2. Language):
Chickpea hybrid population, which has been derived from crosses Diyar 95 x ILC 482 and advanced until F4 generation by bulk, was separated to four different seed size-classes in this generation. Pedigri selection was used from F5 to F8, and seed size effecting plant height, first pod height, number of branches, pods and seeds per plant, seed yield per plant and 100 seed weight were evaluated. Differences among both seed size classes and generations were significant for all characters. The plants of large-seeded group grew up taller and produced larger seeds than the others, but this group gave less branches, pods and grain yield. Small-seeded groups had higher yields, but produced smaller seed with low market value. Large-seeded plants with high yield were not obtained by selection in this study.
