Abstract (2. Language):
Porcelain fused to metal restorations are widely used for the fixed prosthodontic rehabiiitattton. Although porcelain restorations have advantages such as high esthetic and biocompatibi/tty, therr britt/eness is one of the most important disadvantages. In fractured porcelain, extraoral reparr is regarded as a treatment method but tt is time consuming and expensive. Especially in removal of multtuntt bridges, some compttcattons may occur involving with supporting teeth and porcelain; therefore, intraoral reparr seems to be more conservative approach. Because nntraoral reparr of the restoration is not possible with porcelain, composites are used as reparr materials. The suitable surface treatment should be made in order to achieve a succesfull bond between composite and fracture surface. To obtain enough bonding between composite and porcelain-metal surface, both mechanical methods such as diamond bur roughening, arr abrasion, asit etching, silica coating and chemical methods including s/lane, metal primer and bonding agents are used. The success of porcelain reparr is related to the longevity of the repaired restoration use and the opthimum esthetic outcome.
