Obturator is a prosthesis which used to close a defect of maxilla that was result of trauma, congenital malformations and surgical intervention of maling-bening neoplasms. The size of defect influence the degree of impairment in prosthetic rehabilitation. Lack of support, retention, and stability are common prosthodontic treatment problems for patients who have had a maxillectomy. Obturators may be used to restore masticatory function and improve speech, deglutition and cosmetics for maxillary defect patients. This article presents two case raports of patients theres palatal insufficiency successfully rehabilitated with closed hollow bulb obturator prosthesis.

Travma, konjenital malformasyonlar ve maling-bening neoplazmaların cerrahi tedavisi sonucu oluşan maksiller defektlerin protetik rehabilitasyonu için yapılan protezlere obtüratör denir. Defekt bölgesinin genişliği yapılan obtüratörün başarısı ile ilişkilidir. Maksillektomi yapılmış hasta için yapılan protezin problemleri; retansiyon, stabilite ve doku desteğindeki yetersizliktir. Obtüratörler; maksillasında defekt bulunan hastanın bozulan kas fonksiyonunu onarmak, konuşma ve yutkunma fonksiyonlarını daha konforlu hale getirmek, estetiği sağlamak için kullanılabilirler. Bu makalede, palatal yetmezlikleri hollow bulb obtüratörü ile başarılı bir şekilde rehabilite edilen iki vaka sunuldu.
