Abstract (2. Language): 
Despite plenty of research, the exact etiology for Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS), one of the most common oral ulcerative diseases, still remains unclear. Predisposing factors such as trauma, microbial factors, food, drug reactions, immune disorders, hormonal imbalance, familial tendency and smoking are believed to be involved in the etiology of RAS. Because of the being of exact etiology for RAS unclear, there is not any curative therapy for it and symptomatic therapies are usually applied. The purpose of this review is to inform the clinicians about the clinic features, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, etiology, pathogenesis and management of RAS.

Dünyada en sık görülen oral ülseratif hastalıklardan birisi olan Rekürrent Aftöz Stomatitisin (RAS) yapılan birçok araştırmaya rağmen kesin etiolojisi bulunamamıştır. Travma, mikrobiyal faktörler, yiyecekler, ilaç reaksiyonları, immun bozukluklar, hormonal dengesizlik, sigara gibi predispozan faktörlerin ve ailesel eğilimin RAS'ın etiyolojisinde rol aldığı düşünülmektedir. RAS'ın kesin etiolojisi bilinmediği için RAS için uygulanan herhangi bir küratif tedavi yoktur ve genelde semptomatik tedaviler uygulanır. Bu makalenin amacı klinisyenleri RAS'ın klinik özellikleri, ayırıcı tanısı, teşhisi, etiolojisi, patogenezi ve tedavisi hakkında bilgilendirmektir.
