Abstract (2. Language):
An anomaly in the eruption path of anterior teeth can interfere with facial aesthetics and cause the impaction of these teeth. The frequency of maxillary incisor impaction ranges from 0.06% to 0.2%. The most common causes of impaction of anterior teeth seem to be odontoma, supernumerary teeth, and loss of space. This case report presents the orthodontic treatment of an impacted maxillary central incisor caused by a supernumerary tooth located in the eruption path of the impacted tooth. After the extraction of supernumerary tooth, the patient was checked for 8 months wheather impacted maxillary central erupted spontaneously or not, and then present maloclusions were orthodontically treated. It was detected in the radiographs that impacted maxillary central erupted spontaneously. Hence, the patient was treated without the need for a surgery operation which can effect facial aesthetic negatively.
