Abstract (2. Language): 
Dental anxiety is a common situation encountered for patients receiving dental treatment and also is a syndrome causing major problems for both dentists and patients. Serious problems could arise for such patients in terms of the implementation and success of the dental treatment. However, by the knowledge of dental anxiety etiology and the determination of treatment options according to the advantages and disadvantages, succesful dental applications may be realized. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the etiology and predispozing factors of dental anxiety; psycological reasons and the subject of ensuring communication and cooperation between dentists and patients. Additionally, the essential treatment procedures for patients who have dental anxiety are also described in a comparative manner.

Dental anksiyet e diş tedavisi gören hastalarda çok sık karşılaşılan, hekim ve hasta yönünden sorun doğurabilen bir sendromdur. Dental anksiyeteli hastaların diş tedavilerinin uygulanmasında ciddi zorluklar oluşabilir. Bununla birlikte, dental anksiyete etiyolojisinin bilinmesi ve tedavi seçeneklerinin avantaj ve dezavantajlarına göre belirlenmesi ile bu tip sendromu olan hastalara başarılı dental uygulamalar yapılabilmektedir. Bu makalenin amacı, dental anksiyetenin etiyolojisi ve hazırlayıcı faktörleri, psikolojik nedenleri ve hekim ile hastalar arasındaki iletişim ve kooperasyon sağlanması konularını değerlendirmektir. Ayrıca makalede, dental anksiyeteye sahip olan hastalarda uygulanması gereken tedavi prosedürleri de karşılaştırmalı olarak açıklanmaktadır.
