Abstract (2. Language): 
In this review general knowledge is given about the cryosurgery; a treatment method which is used in medical centers a|! around the world in routine practice with it's high cure rates, good cosmetic results and convience, the cryogens used and the techniques of it's application. The effects of extreme cold to the tissues are considered, besides the indications, advantages, disadvantages and the complications of the cryosurgery in oral and maxillofacial surgery are reviewed.

Bu makalede, yüksek tedavi oranı, iyi kozmetik sonuçları ve kullanım kolaylığı ile tüm dünyadaki tıp mcrkcz\erinde rutin kullanılan bir tedavi metodu olan kriocerrahi, kullanılan kriojenler ve uygulama teknikleri hakkında genei biigiier verilmiştir. Aşırı soğuğun dokular üzerinde oluşturduğu etkiler değerlendirilerek, kriocerrahinin ağız ve çene cerrahisindeki endikasyonfarı, avantaj, dezavantaj ve komplikasyonJarı gözden geçirilmiştir.
