Abstract (2. Language):
Stainless steel crowns are significant restoration materials for primary and young permanent teeth. They primarily provide an effective and practical result in primary teeth which are difficult to restore. As compared with amalgam restorations, they have such advantages as lower cost, shorter period of treatment and durability. Moreover, stainless steel crowns are superior to amalgam in respect to their endurance for a longer period and not having mercury. For the cementation of stainless steel crowns, polycarboxylate ,glass ionomer and zinc phosphate cement are mostly preferred. It has been determined that there are significant differences among these cements in respect to their retention of tooth structures and crown materials. In our study 60 uncarious, newly extracted primary teeth were used and they were divided into two groups. In order to search for their retention characteristics, stainless steel crowns were placed on 30 primary teeth. These were cemented with glass ionomer, polycarboxylate and zinc phosphate cements and then kept in distilled water. The samples were tested by Haunsfield tensometer and the statistical analyses of the results were made. The micraieakage analysis of these cements were carried out on 30 primary teeth in the second group. Thermal cycling was applied on cemented crowned teeth 100 times. They were kept at 37°C distilled water for 72 hours, and then were put in % 0,05 crystal violet. From the teeth wholly immersed into antopolymerisan aery I, three vertical cross-section s were taken and analysed under stercnmicroscopc. And the results were statistically evaluated to search for the relation among them.
